Marge Sorge is executive director of the Detroit Regional News Hub, an organization dedicated to connecting journalists to stories, people and organizations that are transforming Metro Detroit. Marge discussed a recent gathering in Detroit of journalists from around the world. This event was hosted by the Hub.

John Gallagher has covered urban redevelopment for the Detroit Free Press for two decades and spent a year researching what is happening in the city because of its open space and dire economic issues. From this experience he wrote the book “Reimagining Detroit: Opportunities for Redefining an American City.”
Russ Soyring is the city planner for Traverse City and he is working on many renewal projects including a new Bay Front project on Traverse Bay, a historic preservation of the old state hospital and improvement of corridors leading to the downtown area.
Mark Nickita is co-founder of a multi-disciplinary design firm Archive Design Studio and Mayor Pro Tem of the city of Birmingham. He is involved in urban renewal projects of many types across the state.
Sarah Szurpicki, a 2003 Harvard graduate, moved back to the city of Detroit in 2007 and started the organization GLUE (Great Lakes Urban Exchange) with her friend Abby Wilson. Both are young urbanists who returned to their hometowns.
